Georgia Trade Deficit Narrows Sharply in April

In April 2025, Georgia experienced a reduction in its trade deficit, which decreased to USD 782.5 million from USD 1,015.1 million in April of the previous year. This improvement was largely due to a significant 41.1% increase in exports, totaling USD 616.8 million, coupled with a 3.6% decline in imports to USD 1,399.3 million. However, looking at the first four months of 2025, the trade deficit expanded to USD 3,726.9 million compared to USD 3,201 million in the same period last year. This was attributed to the 15.7% rise in imports outpacing the 14.2% growth in exports.
