The Euro Area's annual inflation rate for April 2025 has been confirmed at 2.2%, slightly exceeding the European Central Bank's target of 2.0%. Leading the contributors to this figure were services, which added 1.80 percentage points. They were followed by food, alcohol, and tobacco, contributing 0.57 percentage points, non-energy industrial goods with 0.15 percentage points, while energy detracted 0.35 percentage points. Excluding the more volatile categories of food and energy, core inflation rose to 2.7%, an increase from March's three-year low of 2.4%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices saw a 0.6% rise in April, maintaining the same growth rate observed in March.
