Brazil Economic Activity Beats Forecasts in March

In March 2025, Brazil's IBC-Br Index of Economic Activity, a crucial indicator of output growth, increased by 0.8% compared to the previous month. This was an improvement over the 0.4% rise recorded in February and surpassed the market forecast of a 0.5% increase. Growth was observed across all primary sectors, spearheaded by a 2.1% rise in industrial output. Agriculture followed with a 1.0% increase, while the services sector grew by 0.3%. When excluding agriculture, the overall output saw a 0.7% advancement. On an annual basis, economic activity accelerated by 3.7%, with a 12-month rolling growth rate of 4.2%.
