In March 2025, Moldova experienced a modest year-on-year increase in industrial production of 0.1%, following a revised decline of 0.6% in the previous month. This uptick marks the first increase in industrial activity since July 2024. A significant contributor to this recovery was the mining and quarrying sector, which surged by 28.6%, up from 4.8% the month before. Additionally, the manufacturing sector showed a notable rebound, increasing by 1.8% as compared to a 10.3% decline earlier. However, there was a significant decrease in the output of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, which fell by 5.1% in contrast to an 18.1% rise previously. On a month-to-month basis, total industrial production declined by 4.1% in March, following a downwardly adjusted gain of 12.4% in the earlier period.
