Macau Tourist Arrivals Rise 18.9% in April

In April 2025, Macau experienced a notable 18.9% year-on-year increase in tourist arrivals, reaching a total of 3.09 million. This marks an acceleration compared to the 12.8% rise recorded the month before. Same-day visitors saw a remarkable growth of 30.1%, while those staying overnight grew by 6.9%. The average duration of a visit slightly decreased by 0.1 day from the previous year, averaging 1.1 days, with same-day visitors staying an average of 0.2 days and overnight visitors 2.3 days, both unchanged.

A breakdown by source market shows that visitors from Mainland China rose by 22.4% to 2.1 million, with a significant 34.1% increase in those traveling under the Individual Visit Scheme. Visitors from Hong Kong increased by 13.4%, reaching 659.8 thousand, and arrivals from Taiwan saw a 4.4% rise to 76.7 thousand. Moreover, international visitors climbed 10.4% compared to the previous year, totaling 230 thousand.
