Baltic Dry Index Falls for 2nd Session

The Baltic Exchange's dry bulk sea freight index recorded a slight decline of 0.2%, settling at 1,337 on Wednesday, marking its lowest point since May 15. The capesize index, associated with vessels that transport around 150,000 tons of cargo such as iron ore and coal, experienced a 0.4% decrease, reaching 1,855. Similarly, the panamax index, pertaining to ships carrying 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell by 0.6% to 1,286. Conversely, the supramax index saw a modest increase, rising by 6 points to 988.
