Bulgaria Tourist Arrivals Up 0.6% YoY in April

In April 2025, Bulgaria experienced a modest increase in tourist arrivals, up by 0.6% from the previous year, reaching a total of 797.8 thousand visitors. This follows a 1.5% growth recorded in the prior month. Notably, there was a rise in visits for holiday and recreation purposes, up 7.1%, and for professional reasons, which increased by 0.9%. However, trips for other purposes saw a decline of 3.8%. Tourist visits from EU countries comprised 53.8% of the total, with significant contributions from Romania at 41.5% and Greece at 30.6%. Additionally, arrivals from non-EU European countries constituted 38.0% of the total, predominantly driven by Turkey at 59.2%.
