Chile's Imacec economic activity index experienced a 2.5% increase year-on-year in April 2025, slightly surpassing market forecasts of 2.4%, though it fell short of March's 3.8% growth rate. The expansion was widespread across sectors: the mining industry surged by 10.7%, driven largely by increased copper production, while services rose by 1.2%, buoyed by gains in healthcare, transport, restaurants, and hotels. Manufacturing saw a 1.7% uptick, and the retail sector grew by 3.9%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the Imacec showed a 1.8% increase, with a notable 2.4% gain over the past twelve months. It is important to note that this year April had one less business day compared to the previous year.
