The Davivienda Colombia Manufacturing PMI experienced an uptick in May 2025, climbing to 52.6 from April's 51.4—marking the most significant enhancement in the manufacturing sector's health since January. This increase was predominantly driven by a robust rise in sales, the most substantial since the beginning of the year. While output continued to grow, it did so at a more moderate pace, and order backlogs once again accumulated. From a pricing perspective, cost inflation picked up, spurred by currency exchange rate fluctuations, supplier price adjustments, and input shortages. Nevertheless, both costs and selling prices remained below their historical averages. Business confidence saw an improvement from the seven-month low reached in April, as companies anticipated increased demand, pending quotations, and boosted activity through social media campaigns.
