US Crude Oil Inventories Unexpectedly Dip

According to the American Petroleum Institute, US crude oil stockpiles decreased by 0.37 million barrels for the week ending June 6, 2025. This slight reduction comes on the heels of a significantly larger drop of 3.3 million barrels in the preceding week and goes against forecasts that anticipated a 0.7 million-barrel increase. This represents the smallest inventory fluctuation recorded since August 2024.
