Palestine Trade Deficit Widens in April

In April 2025, Palestine's trade deficit expanded to USD 428.0 million, up from USD 317.5 million in the same month the previous year. This increase was largely driven by a 34% surge in imports, which totaled USD 563.8 million. Of these imports, 53% were from Israel, which saw a 15% increase in Palestinian purchases, while imports from other countries rose by 47%. Meanwhile, exports from Palestine also experienced growth, climbing 32% year-on-year to reach USD 135.8 million. This was primarily due to a 28% rise in exports to Israel, which constituted 90% of Palestine's total exports. Additionally, exports to other nations increased by 75%, demonstrating a significant recovery from the 44% decline observed in the same month of the prior year.
