Belgium Inflation Sees Modest Rebound in June

Belgium's year-over-year inflation rate increased to 2.15% in June 2025, up from 2.01% in May. This rise interrupts a four-month period of declining price growth. The slight increase was mainly attributed to a heightened inflation in several sectors: food and non-alcoholic beverages surged to 3.35% from 2.35%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased to 6.04% from 4.68%, and restaurants and hotels climbed to 4.31% from 3.65%. In contrast, inflation eased in recreation and culture (falling to 1.05% from 1.51%), housing and utilities (decreasing to 3.01% from 4.00%), and health services (slipping to 1.69% from 1.89%), with the communication sector experiencing deflation as it shifted to -0.06% from 0.85%. On a month-over-month basis, consumer prices rose by 0.35% in June, rebounding from a 0.16% decline observed in May.
