US Year-Ahead Inflation Expectations Revised Slightly Down

The University of Michigan's report indicates that inflation expectations for the upcoming year in the United States have declined to a three-month low, reaching 5% in June 2025. This figure is slightly below the preliminary estimate of 5.1% and significantly lower than May's 6.6%—the highest level since November 1981. Additionally, the five-year inflation outlook has decreased for the second consecutive month, settling at 4.0% in June. This marks the lowest point since February and falls short of the earlier forecast of 4.1%.
