FX.co ★ Montenegro Tourist Arrivals Rise 6% in May

In May 2025, Montenegro experienced a 6% increase in tourist arrivals compared to the same month the previous year, reaching a total of 169,353 visitors. This upturn followed a modest 1.2% increase in the prior month and represented the highest number of tourists since September 2024. Foreign visitors made up a significant portion, comprising 86.1% of total arrivals, whereas domestic tourists constituted 13.9%. Notably, the largest contingents of foreign tourists originated from France (10.7%), Israel (8.2%), the United Kingdom (7.8%), and Germany (7.4%). In terms of preferred destinations, seaside resorts captured the majority of visitors, accounting for 79%, followed by the capital city, which attracted 11.8%, and mountain resorts, drawing in 5.2%.
