Slovenia Inflation Rate Picks Up to 2.2%

In June 2025, Slovenia's annual inflation rate increased to 2.2%, up from 1.8% in May. This increase in inflation was largely due to a significant rise in the cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which surged by 6.7% — the most rapid growth since October 2023 — compared to a 5.5% increase in the previous month. Additionally, inflation for alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased to 4.1%, compared to 2.9% in May, while costs for housing, household equipment, and apartment maintenance recovered, registering a rise of 0.7% following a decline of 0.2%. Conversely, deflation continued in the housing and utilities sector, albeit at a reduced rate of -1.5% compared to -2.1%, and in transportation, which saw a smaller drop of -0.3%, following a larger decrease of -1.9%. Meanwhile, inflation rates eased for clothing and footwear, which recorded a growth of 0.7% down from 1.3%, healthcare at 3.7% from 4.3%, and recreation and culture at 2.4% from 3.1%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.8%, rebounding from a stagnant rate in the prior month.
