Greece Retail Sales Growth at 11-Month High

Retail sales in Greece experienced a significant increase of 7.5% in April 2025 compared to the same period the previous year. This growth follows a revised increase of 1.1% in March, marking the highest level of retail activity since May 2024. The acceleration in sales was driven by an impressive rise in food product sales, which jumped by 12.9% after a slight decline of 0.2% in March. Non-food products also saw a strong increase of 6.4%, up from 3.4% in the previous month, while automotive fuel sales improved by 4.7%, compared to a modest 0.3% growth in March. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail sales rose by 4.1% in April.
