Retail sales in Croatia experienced a 2.6% year-on-year increase in May 2025, marking the lowest growth rate since August 2023, following a 4.9% increase in the previous month. Sales continued to demonstrate robust growth in non-food products, with a rise of 7.7% compared to 7.5% in April, and in automotive fuels and lubricants, which saw a 7.5% increase against a previous 10.9%. However, sales in food, beverages, and tobacco experienced a decline of 1.4%, reversing a previous growth of 4.9%. On a monthly basis, retail activity decreased by 1.4% in May, the sharpest decline since January 2022, following a 1% increase in the preceding month.
