In May 2025, Romania's annual producer inflation decelerated to 0.85% from a revised 1.68% in April. This slowdown was chiefly attributed to more moderate price hikes in both mining and quarrying, which rose by 5.52% compared to 11.61% the previous month, and in the sectors of water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation, with an increase of 9.51% down from 11.18%. Additionally, the costs for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply notably fell by 2.04%, contrasting with a 2.58% rise in April. However, manufacturing product prices experienced a continued increase, rising to 1.65% from 1.05%. On a month-to-month basis, producer prices declined by 0.16%, a deceleration from the 1.43% decrease seen in the prior period.
