The Baltic Exchange's dry bulk sea freight index, an indicator for rates of shipping dry commodities, remained unchanged at 1,436 points on Monday, staying near its recent one-month low. The capesize index, which often moves cargoes of around 150,000 tons such as iron ore and coal, declined for the 15th straight day by approximately 1.6%, bringing it to 1,825 points. Conversely, the panamax index, responsible for transporting between 60,000–70,000 tons of coal or grain, increased by 0.7%, reaching 1,531 points — its peak since September 25 of the previous year. Additionally, the supramax index rose by 1.8% to 1,100 points, marking its highest level since November 6.
