Brazil Vehicle Production Contracts for 2rd Month

Vehicle production in Brazil experienced a decline of 6.5% in June 2025, amounting to 200,764 units compared to May of the same year. This follows a 5.9% decrease in the preceding month. Moreover, when juxtaposed with June 2024, production has diminished by 4.9%. This downward trend in production can be attributed to heightened competition from imported vehicles and a cautious approach by manufacturers regarding short-term sales projections. Nonetheless, on a year-to-date basis, vehicle production has seen an increase of 7.8%, reaching a total of 1.23 million units. In the export sector, 50,700 units were shipped in June, reflecting a remarkable 75% increase from the previous year. Conversely, imports grew marginally by 0.9%, tallying 38,650 units year-on-year. However, domestic vehicle registrations in June declined by 5.7%, totaling 212,900 units.
