Indonesia Consumer Mood Improves Slightly

Indonesia experienced a minor upturn in consumer confidence, rising to 117.8 in June 2025 from 117.5 in May. Nonetheless, this slight increase still leaves the confidence level near May's mark, the lowest recorded since September 2022, amid diminishing purchasing power and a contracting middle class. Notably, three out of the six sub-indices reported gains: perceptions of the current economic conditions advanced by 0.7 points to reach 106.7, current income levels climbed by 2.1 points to 120.2, and overall job availability edged up by 0.3 points to 124.1. In contrast, the other sub-indices witnessed declines: income expectations for the coming six months decreased by 2.2 points to 133.2, job availability compared to six months prior fell by 1.6 points to 94.1, and the economic outlook slightly receded by 0.1 points to 128.9.
