Rwanda experienced a significant rise in overall inflation, reaching 8.3% in June 2025, marking the highest level since November 2023, up from 7.7% in May. This increase continues the upward trend for the fourth month in a row. The primary drivers of this inflationary pressure were the increased costs in various sectors: restaurants and hotels, which surged to 15.9% from 13.5% in May; communications remained steady at 17.2%; food and non-alcoholic beverages rose to 10.7% from 10%; alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics increased to 8.8% from 7.2%; and clothing and footwear experienced a slight rise to 6.6% from 6.4%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices remained unchanged, mirroring May's figures.
