Ireland Industrial Output Surges in May

Industrial production in Ireland experienced a significant growth of 36.8% year-on-year in May 2025, a marked increase from the revised 17.7% gain observed in the preceding month. This substantial rise was primarily fueled by enhanced production in both transportable goods, which surged by 39.7% compared to 18.9% in April, and manufacturing industries, which increased by 36.7% from a previous 17.9%. Meanwhile, the decline in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply lessened considerably, shrinking by only 1.3% following a 13.1% drop previously. In terms of monthly comparison, output rebounded by 12.4% in May, effectively overturning the 12.5% decrease noted in April.
