US Natgas Prices Rise to Over 1-Week High

U.S. natural gas futures have climbed above $3.40 per MMBtu, marking the highest level in over a week, primarily stimulated by increased LNG export activities and predictions of exceptionally warm weather, which will likely elevate demand through the end of July. The average gas flow to the United States' eight major LNG export facilities has reached 15.6 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) in July, following the resumption of operations at several plants post-maintenance and outage periods. Additionally, forecasts for warmer weather across the Lower 48 states indicate that higher cooling requirements will continue. In parallel, a federal report disclosed a 53 billion cubic feet storage injection for the week ending July 4, aligning precisely with the five-year average.
