Irish GDP Returns to Contraction in Q2

In the second quarter of 2025, Ireland's GDP contracted by 1.0% compared to the previous quarter, overturning a solid 7.4% growth recorded in the first quarter, based on preliminary estimates. This downturn disrupted a five-month growth streak, largely attributed to a deceleration in the multinational-driven industrial sector. Annually, GDP growth eased to 12.5%, down from a 20% rise in the preceding quarter.
