Sweden Retail Sales Rebound in June

Retail sales in Sweden experienced a year-on-year increase of 2.5% in June 2025, bouncing back from a previously revised decline of 1.9% in May. This recovery was primarily fueled by a substantial rise in the sales of durable goods, which saw a 5.3% increase after experiencing a 1.5% decrease in the prior month. Conversely, sales of consumable goods continued their downward trend, falling by 1.1% after a previous decrease of 1.4%. On a month-to-month basis, retail sales climbed by 2.4%, marking a significant turnaround from the sharply revised 4.6% drop in May and representing the most robust monthly increase since December 2024. However, over the quarter from April to June, retail sales fell by 0.6% compared to the first quarter of the year (January–March).
