Paraguay Inflation Picks Up in July

Paraguay experienced a rise in its annual inflation rate, reaching 4.3% in July 2025, up from 4% the previous month. This increase was predominantly driven by higher costs in the food sector (6.3%), basic basket services (3.8%), and fuels (1.5%). However, these upward pressures were somewhat alleviated by a decrease in the prices of imported durable goods, with their inflation rate slowing to 3.5%, thanks largely to favorable fluctuations in the guaraní-dollar exchange rate during the period. On a month-to-month basis, inflation accelerated to 0.4% following a period of no change in June. Inflation from the start of the year was registered at 3.3%.
