China Evergrande Group has announced that its shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange will be delisted on August 25. This follows the exchange's decision to remove the company from its listings. The financially troubled developer, one of the world's most indebted, has chosen not to contest this decision. The company was informed on Friday that its listing would be cancelled as it failed "to fulfil any of the requirements" necessary to resume trading. Evergrande's shares have been on hold since January 29, 2024, when a Hong Kong court ordered its liquidation due to the company's inability to propose a viable restructuring plan. According to exchange regulations, companies that remain suspended for 18 consecutive months are subject to delisting.
