In the week ending August 8, 2025, crude oil inventories in the United States experienced an unexpected increase of 3.037 million barrels, contrary to market forecasts of a 0.8 million barrel reduction, as reported by the EIA Petroleum Status Report. Additionally, inventories at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub saw a rise of 45 thousand barrels. In terms of refined products, gasoline inventories fell by 0.792 million barrels, whereas distillate fuel stocks grew by 0.714 million barrels.
