In the second quarter of 2025, Serbia's unemployment rate declined to 8.5%, down from 9.1% in the first quarter, which was a one-year peak. The number of unemployed individuals dropped by 22,400 compared to the previous quarter, reaching a total of 267,000. Concurrently, the employment rate experienced a marginal increase to 51.5%, up from 51.4% over the preceding two quarters. This occurred despite a slight reduction in the number of employed individuals, which fell by 1,200 to a total of 2.89 million. Additionally, the labor force participation rate decreased by 0.4 percentage points to 56.2% during the second quarter.
