China Slaps Anti-Dumping Duties on U.S. Optical Fiber

China has introduced new tariffs on specific optical fiber products from the United States after a six-month investigation determined that American exporters were circumventing existing anti-dumping regulations. These tariffs, ranging from 33.3% to 78.2%, became effective on Thursday in Beijing and apply to "certain cut-off shifted single-mode optical fiber," according to the Ministry of Commerce. This decision further intensifies the ongoing trade tensions between Beijing and Washington, with conflicts arising in various sectors, including technology and agriculture.
