In August 2025, Ireland's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased to 4.7%, a slight drop from the previously revised rate of 4.8% in July. The number of unemployed decreased by 4,000 compared to the previous month, totaling 138,200 individuals. Examining the figures by gender, male unemployment dropped to 4.9% in August from 5.0% in July, while female unemployment saw a decrease to 4.5% from 4.7%. Regarding age demographics, the unemployment rate for young people aged 15-24 decreased to 11.9% from 12.1% in July, while for those aged between 25-74, the rate fell to 3.6% from 3.8%.
