Spain's industrial production surged by 2.5% in July 2025 compared to the same month in the previous year, a growth rate not seen since October 2024, and marking the fifth consecutive month of expansion. June's growth rate was revised down to 1.9%. The growth in the energy sector moderated slightly to 5.8%, down from 7.5% in June, yet it continued to be a significant contributor to the overall expansion. Meanwhile, there was an acceleration in the production of intermediate goods, which grew by 2% compared to 0.9% previously, and consumer goods, increasing to 1.9% from the earlier 0.4%. However, production of capital goods experienced a decline, contracting by 1.6% following a 3.9% increase previously. On a seasonally adjusted basis, industrial output decreased by 0.5% in July, following a revised increase of 0.8% in the previous month.
