Austria Industrial Output Eases in July

In July 2025, Austria experienced a 1.8% increase in industrial production compared to the previous year. This marked a slight decrease from the upwardly revised 2% growth recorded in June. The deceleration was primarily attributed to a reduction in the growth rate of intermediate goods production, which slowed to 2% from 6.3% in June, and consumer non-durables, which decreased to 10.1% from 11.2%. Additionally, energy output continued its downward trend, declining by 7.6%, slightly more than the 6.8% decrease observed previously. In contrast, there was a growth in capital goods production, which increased by 4.2% compared to 3% in June, and a lessened contraction in consumer durables, which improved to -7% from -9.3%. On a month-to-month basis, adjusted for seasonal variations, industrial output slightly decreased to 0.8% in July from a revised 0.9% increase in the prior month.
