Slovakia Industrial Output Falls at Faster Pace

In July 2025, Slovakia experienced a 4.6% year-on-year decline in industrial production, worsening from a 3.6% decrease recorded in the previous month. This downturn was largely attributed to ongoing decreases in all three primary sectors: manufacturing, which dropped by 2.8% compared to a 2.3% decline in June; mining and quarrying, which plummeted by 14.4% following a 1.6% decrease; and the electricity, gas, and air-conditioning sector, which fell by 17.6%, down from a 14.8% drop. On a monthly basis, however, after seasonal adjustments, industrial activity saw a recovery, increasing by 0.9% in July, rebounding from a 1.8% decline in the previous month.
