In the three months ending July 2025, the United Kingdom experienced an increase of 232,000 in employment figures, building on a previously revised rise of 239,000 in the preceding period. This recent figure surpassed expectations of a 220,000 increase, primarily bolstered by full-time employment opportunities. Year-on-year, employment numbers climbed by 654,000, with notable growth among both employees and self-employed individuals in both full-time and part-time capacities. Additionally, the employment rate for individuals aged 16 to 64 slightly increased by 0.1 percentage points, reaching 75.2%. The number of individuals holding second jobs also saw a rise, totaling 1.301 million, which represents 3.8% of overall employment.
