Retail sales in Thailand increased by 7.3% year-over-year in July 2025, representing a slowdown from an upwardly revised 30.7% growth in the preceding month. This figure is the lowest since January, as there was a marked deceleration in sales across various sectors: other retail sales rose just 14.5% compared to the substantial 71.3% in June; non-durable goods recorded a growth of 1.5% against the previous 6.4%; and department stores, supermarkets, and general stores saw a slight decrease with a 21.3% rise compared to 22.5% earlier. Concurrently, sales for durable goods continued to decline, falling by 2.3%, deeper than the -0.9% seen previously, while sales for motor vehicles and automotive fuel also dipped further, reporting a -3.5% drop from -2.5%. On a monthly comparison, retail activity fell by 12.4% in July, intensifying from a 3.3% decline recorded in June.
