In August 2025, Montenegro experienced a 2.9% year-on-year increase in tourist arrivals, reaching a record of 244,904 visitors. This follows a 3.7% rise in July. Foreign tourists comprised the majority of overnight stays in collective accommodations, accounting for 91.4% of the total, while domestic tourists represented 8.6%. By resort type, the majority of overnight stays occurred in coastal areas (92.5%), with the capital city accounting for 3.6%, mountain resorts for 2.5%, and other resorts for 1.4%. European tourists made up nearly 80% of the visitors, with significant numbers coming from Serbia (19.2%), Bosnia and Herzegovina (5.8%), France (5.3%), and the United Kingdom (5.1%). Beyond Europe, important markets included Israel (6.4%), the USA (3%), and China, including Hong Kong (2.9%).
