In September 2025, Portugal's annual inflation rate decelerated to 2.4%, marking the lowest level in three months, according to preliminary estimates. This compares to a 2.8% rate in August. Prices for unprocessed food saw a 7% year-on-year increase, consistent with August figures, while energy prices experienced a slight uptick of 0.3%, following a 0.2% decline in the previous month. Meanwhile, the core inflation rate also declined, moving from 2.4% to 2%. On a month-to-month basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.9%, the highest increase in six months, recovering from a 0.2% decrease in August. As for the EU-harmonised CPI, prices increased by 1.9% year-on-year, down from 2.5% in August, and rose 1% month-on-month, bouncing back from a 0.1% decline.
