The HALPIM Manufacturing PMI increased to 51.5 in September 2025, up from a revised figure of 49.1 in August, indicating a modest expansion within Hungary's manufacturing sector. Nevertheless, the index still lags behind its long-term monthly average of 52.6, although it surpasses the three-year average of 49.7 experienced during the downturn in the country. Most subcomponents of the index showed improvement compared to the previous month, with rises in new orders and production volumes, signifying better demand conditions. In contrast, the employment index declined further, staying in contraction territory and underscoring persistent labor market challenges.
