Switzerland's non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 2.8% in September 2025, maintaining its peak level since April. The total number of unemployed individuals increased by 1.1 thousand from the previous month, reaching 133.2 thousand. Moreover, the unemployment rate for the youth, defined as job-seekers aged between 15 and 24, stayed at 3.2%, marking its highest point since March 2021, as the number of unemployed youths saw a slight rise of 0.2 thousand to reach a total of 13.9 thousand. Concurrently, the reported number of job vacancies saw a decline of 0.5 thousand, landing at 37.4 thousand. When adjusted for seasonal variations, the unemployment rate edged up to 3.0% in September from 2.9% in the prior month.
