Indonesia Consumer Mood Lowest Since 2022

In September 2025, Indonesia experienced a decline in consumer confidence, which fell to 115.0 from 117.2 in August. This represents the lowest level of confidence recorded since April 2022. Among the six main sub-indices, five saw decreases: the economic outlook declined by 2.0 points to 127.2, job availability compared to six months prior decreased by 1.2 points to 92.0, perceptions of current economic conditions fell by 2.4 points to 102.7, current income levels dropped by 4.0 points to 112.9, and income expectations for the next six months decreased by 2.4 points to 134.3. Moreover, the index for purchasing durable goods compared to six months ago experienced a decline of 1.9 points, reaching 103.2. Conversely, there was a slight improvement in the expectations for job availability in the next six months, which increased by 0.3 points, reaching a level of 123.1.
