Finnish Inflation Rate Stays at 0.5% in September

In September 2025, Finland's annual inflation rate remained steady at 0.5%, consistent with August's figures. There was an uptick in the cost of clothing and footwear, rising to 0.71% from 0.38% the previous month, as well as in recreation and culture, which saw a slight increase to 2.60% from 2.56%. Conversely, the rate of price increases slowed for categories such as alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics, dropping to 3.44% from 4.93%; communication decreased sharply to 4.06% from 6.27%; and restaurants and hotels fell to 1.41% from 2.27%. There was also a moderation in food and non-alcoholic beverages (down to 2.47% from 2.8%), furnishings (down to 0.19% from 1.15%), and health (dropping to 6.18% from 6.69%). Prices declined in the transport sector, decreasing by 0.68% from the previous 6.69%, housing prices fell to -1.45% from -2.54%, and miscellaneous goods and services saw a price decrease to -2.50% from -1.91%. On a monthly comparison, consumer prices rebounded by 0.3% in September, following a 0.2% decrease in August.
