Kyrgyzstan Industrial Output Contracts in September

In September 2025, Kyrgyzstan experienced a 5.8% year-on-year decline in industrial production, the first contraction in ten months, following a 13.6% increase in August. This downturn was primarily driven by a significant reduction in manufacturing output, which fell by 11.5% after an 11.7% rise in the previous month. Additionally, the output in mining and quarrying decreased, registering a 21.6% drop compared to a prior 23.1% gain. On the other hand, production surged in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector, which grew by 31.1%, up from 18.1%, while the water supply industry also saw a boost, rising to 21.3% from 17.7%. Overall, for the first nine months of the year, industrial output increased by 10.2% compared to the same period last year.
