In August 2025, Brazil's IBC-Br economic activity index, which serves as a significant indicator of GDP performance, experienced a 0.4% rise from the previous month. This increase marked a recovery following a 0.5% drop in July and was the first positive movement since April. The growth was primarily fueled by advancements in various sectors: industry grew by 0.8%, services increased by 0.2%, and taxes went up by 0.7%. However, the agriculture and livestock sector faced a contraction of 1.9%. When agriculture is excluded, the IBC-Br index still registered a 0.4% increase. On a year-over-year basis, economic activity showed a robust growth of 3.2%.
