Lithuania Retail Sales Growth Eases in September

Retail sales in Lithuania experienced a 4.1% year-on-year increase in September 2025, cooling from an adjusted 6.3% rise the previous month and representing the slowest growth rate in four months. Sales of automotive fuel declined by 3.3% in September after stagnating in August, while the growth rate for non-food product sales moderated to 10.4% from 14.4%. This deceleration partially counterbalanced the recovery in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco, which improved by 1.1% following a 0.6% decrease, as well as trade in non-specialized stores, which climbed by 0.7% after a 0.1% drop in August. On a month-to-month basis, retail sales fell by 1.1% in September, overturning an adjusted 1.3% increase from August and marking the first monthly decline since January.
