German Bund Yields Steady at 2-Week Highs

Germany's 10-year Bund yield has steadied at approximately 2.64%, close to its peak since October 9, as investors anticipate a calm period after last week's European Central Bank policy meeting. The ECB decided to keep interest rates steady while expressing an optimistic growth outlook for the eurozone and maintaining its inflation forecast unchanged. On the economic data side, German inflation decreased marginally less than anticipated, settling at 2.3% in October, with the economy experiencing stagnation due to a decline in exports. In contrast, the eurozone's GDP rose by 0.2%, slightly exceeding expectations, bolstered by strong growth in France and Spain. Meanwhile, in the United States, the Federal Reserve lowered interest rates, but Chairman Jerome Powell indicated that further rate cuts in December are not a certainty. Investors are now looking forward to the ADP employment report this week to gain insights into the US labor market and economic performance.
