In September 2025, Chile's IMACEC economic activity index witnessed a robust annual growth of 3.2%, a considerable acceleration from the previous month's 0.5% increase, marking its most significant rise since May. The trade sector experienced a notable 10.8% growth, driven by advancements in all areas, particularly in wholesale trade, and bolstered by increased sales in machinery, equipment, and food. There was also an upsurge in vehicle sales and maintenance services, and retail trade saw growth in grocery stores, clothing outlets, and online platforms. The services sector expanded by 3.3%, reflecting gains in business, personal, and transport services. Meanwhile, goods production slightly increased by 0.5%, supported by a boost in food manufacturing. However, the mining sector saw a decline of 2.2%, and other goods production decreased by 0.3% due to lower copper extraction and reduced electricity generation. On a month-to-month basis, the overall economic activity grew by 0.5%.
