China has lifted its prohibition on approving the export of "dual-use items" related to gallium, germanium, antimony, and super-hard materials to the United States, as reported by the Commerce Ministry on Sunday. This suspension is effective immediately and will last until November 27, 2026. Initially, the ban was declared in December 2024. Along with this decision, the ministry has also eased the stringent end-user and end-use verifications for the export of dual-use graphite to the United States, measures that were instituted with the original prohibition. Furthermore, on Friday, China announced it would suspend additional export controls introduced on October 9, which included enhanced restrictions on certain rare earth elements and components used in lithium batteries.
