Finnish Industrial Output Shrinks the Least in 3 Months

Finland's industrial output decreased by 1.8% in September 2025 compared to the same month the previous year. This decline comes after a revised drop of 2.6% in August, marking the fourth consecutive month of reduced industrial activity. However, the contraction in September was the mildest since June. Manufacturing experienced a reduction of 2.3%, compared to a 2.8% decrease previously observed. Meanwhile, there was accelerated growth in the mining and quarrying sector, which surged by 27.2% compared to 2.0% earlier. Additionally, a marginal improvement occurred in gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, which increased by 0.1% following a 1.4% decrease. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production dropped by 0.5% in September, countering a previously revised increase of 1.4% seen in August.
